About Shelby
Shelby White, LCSW
Hi there. I’m Shelby White, LCSW, an attachment-focused therapist who sees individuals and couples in-person in Austin, Texas and virtually throughout Texas and Tennessee. Ultimately, I strive to help my clients embrace creativity, connection, and authenticity in their lives.
Overall, I work to establish strong and safe connections with my clients in order to assist them in deep healing work. While my approach is eclectic, I tend to pull ideas from attachment theory and somatic psychology while working in a personalized way with each client. I work best with highly adaptive and creative folks who feel out of alignment with their current life and/or relationships. These individuals and couples are ready to explore how their patterns began and are committed to feeling better.
I have training in Somatic Experiencing, equine assisted psychotherapy (Natural Lifemanship), Trauma Conscious Yoga Method, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I work with my clients to find a blend of these modalities that work best for their treatment. To read more about how I approach therapy, check out the individual therapy and couples therapy sections.
Outside of work, I enjoy hanging out with my dog, Henry, hitting the trails with my boyfriend, riding horses, and generally attempting to get outside, express my creativity, and spend time with animals as much as possible. Fun fact: I’ve recently been dedicating a lot of my non-therapy related time to training my neighbors’ donkey.
